Monika Grünberg received her Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from UBC. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 20 years experience helping adults, children and families through the transitions and challenges of their lives. Her theoretical approach is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-focussed, Expressive, Systemic and Client-centred frameworks.

Monika welcomes individual clients of all ages. She has a special interest working with couples, blended and adoptive families. For child therapy, she offers a child-friendly environment suited to the developmental needs of young clients.

Monika is fluent in both English and German, and has a working knowledge of French. She is available for consultations in her Comox office. Evening and Saturday appointments are available.

Dr. Patterson has been a psychologist and educator in the Comox Valley since 1992. She is skilled in many kinds of Psychotherapy and in Psychological Assessment. Depending upon the issues, the time available, and client preferences, she may use Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-focussed, Expressive, Spiritual and Psychodynamic approaches in her work with individuals or couples.

She offers short or long-term psycho-therapy, psychological assessments for children and adults, and consulting and clinical supervision services.

Dr. Patterson also offers workshops and is available for public speaking engagements.

Grünberg Patterson provides Counselling & Psychological Services for: abuse and trauma, adoption, anxiety and phobias, child and adolescent therapy, couple and relationship counselling, depression, elder care, family of origin, grief and bereavement, health and medical concerns, life, family and career transitions, parenting, separation and divorce, stress and pain management. These services are available to those residing in the Comox Valley and North Island: Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland, Campbell River.
